NTPC’s Darlipali project gets environmental clearance

February 25: National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) Limited’s 1,600 MW Daripali supercritical thermal project recently received the initial environment clearance from the Ministry of Environment and Forests (MoEF).

According to a letter addressed to NTPC, the Darlipali power project in the Sundargarh district of Odisha will require 1,670 acres of land out of which 34.47 acres are forest land.

The ministry, however, has given a deadline of six months to NTPC for submission of a vision document specifying the prospective plan for the site of the project.
