NTPC yet to sign FSA with CIL for 2 power plants

August 19: NTPC Ltd has not yet signed the fuel supply agreements (FSA) with Coal India Ltd (CIL) subsidiaries for two of its power plants that have total generation capacity of 1,570 MW, a source said.
“The FSAs have not been signed despite having coal linkage available,” the source added.
The plants which have not yet signed the FSA are Unit 3 of Bongaigaon (250 MW) and three units of Barh (1320 MW), the source said.
The total coal requirement by the above four units of 1,570 MW is 7.85 million tons annually and NTPC has a Letter of Assurance (LoA) for 7.63 mt from Eastern Coalfields Ltd and Central Coalfields Ltd, the source said.
