Met coke imports via New Mangalore Port stood at 27,500 tons in January 2016, down 34.88% month-on-month compared to 42,227 tons imported in December, as per provisional data available with ICMW.
A volume of 36,320 tons of the material had been imported via this port in January 2015.
Total met coke imports through the port during the first 10 months (April-January) of 2015-16 stood at 369,278 tons against 283,611 tons seen in the same period of the previous fiscal.
Imports of met coke through the port in financial year 2014-15 stood at 310,460 tons.

In January 2016, the entire material arrived from China at Rs 8,737 ($130) per ton.
In December 2015, however, the entire material had come from China at a price range of Rs 9,706-Rs 10,222 ($144-$152) per ton.
