New Mangalore Oct coal handling up 172% m-o-m

November 27: Handling of coal (imports of non-coking coal) by New Mangalore Port stood at 695,737 tons in October 2015, witnessing a sharp rise of 172% from 255,783 tons handled in September 2015, as per provisional data from port sources available with ICMW.

However, during the first seven months (April-October) of 2015-16, coal handling by this port stood at 3,575,811 tons, showing a fall of 29.11% from 5,044,679 tons handled in the same period of 2014-15.

Similarly, handling of coal by the port in October 2014 stood at 732,097 tons, which shows that handling was down 4.97% y-o-y.
