November 30: Gypsum imports through New Mangalore Port surged to 55,200 tons in October 2015, showing an increase of 6.44% compared to 51,858 tons imported in September 2015, as per provisional information available with ICMW.
There were 57,765 tons of gypsum imports via this port in October 2014.
Total gypsum imports through the port during the first seven months (April-October) of 2015-16 stood at 220,291 tons against 170,276 tons in the same period of the previous fiscal.
Imports of gypsum through the port in financial year 2014-15 stood at 284,184 tons.

The entire import volume in October 2015 came from Oman at a price of Rs 1,109 ($17) per ton.
September 2015 imports comprised a volume of 108 tons from China at a price of Rs 6.024 ($90) per ton and 51,750 tons from Oman at a price of Rs 1,148 ($17) per ton
