November 11: PCI coal imports through the port of Kolkata declined to 22.86% to 24,251 tons in October 2013 against 31,440 tons reported in September 2013, as per information available with ICMW.
Total PCI imports via Kolkata port stood at 167,671 tons in the first seven months of 2013-14 compared to 196,432 tons imported in the same period last year.
PCI coal imports in October 2012 stood at 46,855 tons.
Total PCI coal imports in the entire financial year of 2012-13 stood at 370,125 tons.

In October 2013, the entire volume of PCI coal imports arrived from Australia at a unit price of Rs 8,200 ($131.08).
In September 2013, however, the entire amount was imported from Australia at a price range of Rs 8,309-Rs 9,136 ($127-$153).
