November 11: PCI coal imports stood at 40,000 tons in October through Karaikal Port, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
There were no imports of this material through the port in September,
Imports in August stood at 38,630 tons.
With nil imports in September, total imports of PCI coal through the port during the first six seven (April-October) of the current fiscal (2015-16) stood at 212,993 tons.
In October 2015, the entire consignment came from Australia at Rs 5,317 per ton ($80).
In August, 30,000 tons had come from Australia at a unit price of Rs 5,430 ($83) per ton while details of 8,630 tons were not available.
