After six months, imports of PCI coal resumed in January 2016 with 50,827 tons, as per provisional information available with ICMW.
Prior to this, a volume of 115,752 tons of the material had been last imported via this port in June 2015.
For the first ten months (April-January) of the current fiscal (2015-16), PCI coal imports via Gangavaram Port stood at 292,133 tons while 164,320 tons had been imported in the same period of the previous fiscal (2014-15).

In January 2016, the entire volume of 50,827 tons came in from Australia at a unit price of Rs 4,861 ($72) per ton.
