Pet coke imports via Vizag drop to 34,415 tons in April

May 9: Pet coke imports through the port of Vizag dropped sharply to 34,415 tons in April 2014 against 105,377 tons reported in March, according to provisional information available with ICMW.

Imports of pet coke for the entire financial year of 2013-14 stood at 953,435 tons.

Following is the monthly break-up of pet coke imports via Vizag Port in 2012-13 & 2013-14:

In April, pet coke imports included 33,496 tons from the US at a unit price of Rs 8,784 ($144), 163 tons from Ukraine at a unit price of Rs 19,475 ($315) and 756 tons from China at a unit price of Rs 25,258 ($415).

In March, pet coke imports through the port included 49,731 tons from China in a price band of Rs 9,599 - Rs 13,815 ($155-$223) per ton, 26,250 tons from Georgia at a unit price of Rs 17,198 ($279) and 29,396 tons from the US at a unit price of Rs 10,406 ($169).
