Imports of steam coal through Pipavav Port stood at 129,432 tons in December 2015, down 0.60% month-on-month compared to 130,215 tons reported in November 2015, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
Imports amounted to 85,014 tons in November 2014.
Total imports of the material for the first nine months (April to December) of 2015-16 were at 789,097 tons.
Total import volumes of the material for the same period in the previous fiscal (2014-15) were at 355,791 tons, though, for seven months in the current fiscal, no figures were available.

In November 2015, around 101,500 tons were imported from South Africa at a price range of Rs 2,557- Rs 4,489 ($39-$59). Further details of the remaining 28,715 tons were not available.
