The power index remained turned green on Monday riding on upward movement of global indices. The index remained choppy and directionless for the entire last week.
The S&P BSE Power index decreased 4.94 points (0.29%) to close at 1,707.89 on March 14 from the previous closing of 1,702.95. The highs and lows on March 14 were 1,714.08 and 1,700.68 respectively.
Global markets such as CAC, DAX and FTSE closed up 1-2% on Monday from the previous closes. The Sensex also remained in green.
The Sensex increased 86.29 points (0.35%) to close at 24,804.28.
On March 14, most of the stocks on the S&P BSE Power closed in the green. The maximum gain was registered by Crompton Greave, with the stock, increasing 5.91% to close at Rs 155.0. The maximum loss was registered by Jaiprakash Power, which decreased 2.35% to close at Rs 4.57.
