February 10: Indian Railways (IR) carried 866.14 million tons (mt) of revenue-earning freight traffic during April 1, 2013 to January 31, 2014, up 4.63% from 827.79 mt carried during the corresponding period last year, a government release said on February 10.
During the month of January 2014, the revenue-earning freight traffic carried by Indian Railways stood at 96.40 mt, up 4.14% from 92.57 mt carried during the same period last year, the release added.
