Rungta Mines under MoC scanner again

December 27: Rungta Mines is under the Ministry of Coal (MoC) scanner again. The MoC has sent a show-cause notice to Rungta Mines Limited and Kohinoor Steel in respect of the Mednirai coal block. Around 10 days back, the company had come under the MoC lens when it had been show-caused over the tardy progress of its Bundu coal block.

With regard to the Mednirai block, Rungta Mines and Kohinoor Steel have time till January 15 to show cause to the ministry as to why there was delay in the development of the said block and why this should not be held as a violation of the terms and conditions of the allocation and why it should not be de-allocated.

The company also has to furnish a detailed status note on the progress of the end-use plant for which the block had been allocated.
