SA Oct coal exports to Atlantic nations down 41% m-o-m

November 7: Imports of coal from South Africa’s Richards Bay Coal Terminal (RBCT) by Atlantic countries fell 40.6% in October 2014 compared to the volumes imported during the previous month, according to provisional data available with ICMW.

Exports through RBCT to Atlantic countries stood at 2,147,790 tons in October 2014 against 3,616,147 tons recorded during September 2014.

On the other hand, in October 2013, the export figure stood at 2,058,191 tons.

During the first ten months (January-October) of 2014, total coal exports to Atlantic countries stood at 18,855,594 tons whereas the figure was at 15,018,237 tons during the corresponding period of the previous year.

On the other hand, during FY2013-14, total imports stood at 26,253,834 tons as compared to 26,064,273 tons during FY2012-13.
