SA Oct coal exports to Atlantic nations up 62% m-o-m

December 4: Imports of coal from South Africa’s Richards Bay Coal Terminal (RBCT) by Atlantic countries rose 61.63% in November 2014 compared to the volumes imported during the previous month, according to provisional data available with ICMW.

Exports through RBCT to Atlantic countries stood at 3,471,396 tons in November 2014 against 2,147,790 tons recorded during October 2014.

On the other hand, in November 2013, the export figure stood at 2,480,706 tons.

During the first eleven months (January-November) of 2014, total coal exports to Atlantic countries stood at 22,339,538 tons whereas the figure was at 17,498,943 tons during the corresponding period of the previous year.

On the other hand, during FY2013-14, total imports stood at 26,253,834 tons as compared to 26,064,273 tons during FY2012-13.
