October 4: Standard South African coal prices firmed up further on October 3 as traders quote higher prices on continued congestion at RBCT even as 5,500 Kcal/kg material softened a bit, industry sources said.
Australian and Indonesian coal prices remained largely unchanged on lack of Chinese enquiries, they added.
Meanwhile, the spot prices of coking coal also firmed up a bit on reported softness in freight rates from Australia on increased vessel availability, they said, adding, freight rates from Indonesia and South Africa to India, however, firmed up further.
