Sasan UMPP’s 5th unit starts functioning

July 18: Reliance Power Limited, on July 15, said the boiler of the 660-MW fifth unit at the Sasan ultra mega power project (UMPP) has started functioning.

With this, the total capacity of the Sasan UMPP reached 3,300 MW out of the projected capacity of 3,960 MW.

“The remaining sixth unit is in advanced stages of construction and will be commissioned over the next few months,” a company statement said.
