Riding the global positive sentiment, power stocks went up on February 15 after a week-long dull phase. From February 8-12, the power index had been in the red zone.
The S&P BSE Power index increased 47.81 points (2.96%) to close at 1,665.36 on February 15 from the previous closing of 1,617.57. The highs and lows on February 15 were 1,675.45 and 1,637.08 respectively.
The performance of the global indices was very strong on Monday. Global markets such as CAC, DAX and FTSE as well as the Indian Sensex all closed in the green on Monday against their respective previous closes.
The Sensex increased 568.00 points (2.47%) to close at 23,554.12
All the stocks on S&P BSE Power closed in the green. The highest growth was registered by Adani Power which gained 7.26% to close at Rs 26.6.
