April 14: Steam coal imports through the port of Dahej increased sharply to 1,203,015 tons in March 2015 against 170,989 tons imported in February according to provisional data available with ICMW.
In March, 6,000 tons came from Indonesia at a unit price of Rs 3,231 ($51); 242,038 tons from South Africa at a price range of Rs 4,327-Rs 6,146($69-$98) per ton while details of 954,977 tons of coal were not available.
Imports in February comprised 6,000 tons from Indonesia at a price of Rs 3,335 ($53)/ton, and 164,989 tons from South Africa in a price band of Rs 3,959 - 6,112 ($63-97) per ton.
