August 12: A stable trend prevailed in international coal markets on August 11 as prices remained more or less unchanged amidst indications of revival in demand, market sources said.
Meanwhile, with the report of improvement in Chinese demand, it is expected that international coal prices may firm up a bit.
“China’s demand and prices are improving with better Australian 5,500 NAR bids. Many players suggest that the market may have touched the lower levels for 2014,” an official from a leading coal miner told ICMW.
