Steam coal imports via Ennore up 38.55% in July m-o-m

August 28: Steam coal imports through Ennore Port rose 38.55% to 1,340,278 tons in July 2014 against a volume of 967,308 tons reported in June, as per information available with ICMW.

Imports of the material in July 2013 stood much lower at 70,2927 tons.

In the first four months of the current financial year (2014-15), non-coking coal imports through the port stood at 4,394,402 tons against 1,781,712 tons imported during the same period in 2013-14.

Following is the monthly break-up of steam coal imports via Ennore Port in FY’14 and FY’15:

In July, all the consignments arrived from Indonesia in a range of Rs 2,747 – Rs 5,501 ($45-91) per ton.

In June too, all the consignments arrived from Indonesia but in a price band of Rs 2,882 – 5,482 ($48-92) per ton.
