Steam coal imports through Kakinada Port stood at 141,000 tons in January 2016 while there were no imports of the material through the port in December 2015, according to provisional data available with ICMW. The same stood at 181,561 tons in November 2015.

In January 2016, a volume of 134,239 tons of steam coal came from Indonesia at a price range of Rs 2,938-Rs 3,414 ($43-$51) per ton. Further details of remaining 6761 tons were not available.
Last time, in November, a volume of 125,559 tons came from South Africa at a price range of Rs 2,865-Rs 3,405 ($43-$51) per ton but details of the remaining 56,002 tons were not available.
