Two new coal mills to power Amreyah Cement in Egypt

16 Jul 2015

Following Amreyah Cement Co.’s intention of wanting to switch to using coal to power its clinker lines, Christian Pfeiffer has signed a contract to deliver and constructs two new coal mills for the cement company.

It will be a turnkey project; Christian Pfeiffer Beckum (CPB) will be responsible for organising construction work, engineering and delivering equipment in Egypt.

CPB’s delivery includes two identical horizontal ball mills with a 3.4 m dia. and an effective grinding length of 6.75 m and a 3 m integrated drying chamber, each equipped with a high-efficiency DSL-K 65-type separator. The ball mills are rated for outputs of 35 tph of coal each.

The company will deliver all raw material handling equipment, the finished product silos, the dosing and conveyor units and the new burners for the existing clinker lines, the electrical systems, safety equipment and the steel and solid structures.
Construction is planned to commence in summer 2015 and the plant is anticipated to be completed one year later.

The mills comply with the latest ATEX directives to avoid potential risks of explosion.
