November 7: UltraTech Cement Limited, flagship of the Aditya Birla Group, was granted environmental clearance (EC) from the Ministry of Environment and Forests (MoEF) for the Mohanpura limestone mine in Dhar district of Madhya Pradesh for the company’s cement plant which is 3 km away.
The ministry awarded the EC vide a letter issued to the management on October 29, 2014.
As per the communique, the mine has a production capacity of 0.80 million tons per annum and the mining lease area would be 1,026 hectares.
