CCL targets 110 mt production, earmarks Rs 2,500 cr capex in FY26

Central Coalfields has set a target to produce 110 million tons of coal during 2025-26 (FY26) and earmarked capital expenditure (capex) of Rs 2,500 crore, according to a senior company official. The Coal India (CIL) arm is also planning to commission 5 coking coal washeries with a cumulative capacity of 14.5 milion tons per annum (mtpa), which is likely to be operational by FY29. Further, the company is also looking to scale up its solar plant capacity from the present 20 MW to 450 megawatts (MW) by 2030. The five coking coal washeries, which CCL is trying to develop are New Kathara (3 mtpa), New Rajrappa (3 mtpa), Dhori (3 mtpa), Basantpur Tapin (4 mtpa) and New Swang (1.5 mtpa). SCCL also plans two additional First Mile Connectivity (FMC) projects at the Amrapali and Magadh mines to improve coal evacuation infrastructure.
