Centre okays appointment of Asheesh Kumar as CIL Director, Business Development

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of Asheesh Kumar as Director (Business Development) at Coal India Limited (CIL), a Maharatna public sector enterprise under the Ministry of Coal.

Presently, he is serving as General Manager in the same organisation.

As per the order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on July 17, Kumar will take charge as Director (Business Development) for a term of five years from the date of assumption of office. His tenure will continue until the date of his superannuation or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

On May 19, 2025 the PESB Panel had recommended the name of Kumar for CIL’s Director (Business Development) post from a list of 10 candidates.
