JSW Energy inks 300 MW PPA with NHPC for 25 years

JSW Energy through its stepdown subsidiary Energizent Power Private Limited, has signed Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with NHPC Limited for ISTS-connected 300 megawatts (MW) solar-wind hybrid capacity, according to a BSE filing. The PPA is signed for supply of power for a period of 25 years with a tariff of RS 3.49/KWh. The project is expected to be commissioned in the next 24 months and is located in Rajasthan and Andhra Pradesh. JSW Energy has total locked-in generation capacity of 29.9 gigawatts (GW) comprising of 12.5 GW operational, 12.8 GW under-construction across wind, thermal and hydro and pipeline of 4.6 GW. The company also has 29.3 GWh of locked-in energy storage capacity through hydro pumped storage projects of 26.4 gigawatt hour (GWh) and battery energy storage system of 2.9 GWh. The company aims to reach 30 GW generation capacity and 40 GWh of energy storage capacity by 2029-30 and achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.
